Yunah Park Classical Guitar

Yunah Park Spruce, Indian Rosewood

Yunah Park Spruce, Indian Rosewood

Yunah Park was born in Korea but came to Spain to follow her passion of building classical guitars.  She was fortunate to be apprenticed to Angel Benito Aguado and now operates from his workshop in Madrid as he has retired.  Each guitar can take up to two months to finish so her output is only a few very high quality guitars each year.

The guitar has s Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides and an Ebony fretboard.  The guitar has had very limited playing during its lifetime.  It is in close to mint condition and will open up over time with more regular use.  It has a typical Madrid Spanish sound with full basses and bright trebles.  In addition, it shows a delicacy of sound which enables nuances in the music to be reflected when needed.   It has the standard dimensions for a classical concert guitar.  Shaun Newman, the respected luthier has carried out work on the fretboard to alter the action.  in view of this the price is reduced significantly.  Essentially he planed the existing fretboard and added a profiled one on top, rather then disturb the soundboard.  The overall effect is to have a slightly thicker fretboard and sound that retains all the features of the original.  in view of this work the price is significantly reduced.

There is no doubt that Yunah's skill and commitment to producing concert quality instruments will ensure that in future there will be an increasing demand for her guitars.  A guitar of this quality would be at least double from a more well known luthier
