Shunpei Nishino Model 50 Spruce Indian Rosewood
Shunpei Nishino is one of the leading senior luthier in Japan, but his guitars are not generally widely available internationally. The guitar production is limited such that the local market takes up the numbers, leaving few available for export. Mr Nishino made all his guitars by hand, assisted by his son, who has now taken over the workshop. Nishino guitars are noted for their fine craftsmanship and high quality woods.
The guitar for sale is a Shunpei Nishino model 50 2002. It is in excellent condition and the Cashew polish finish shows hardly any signs of wear. In fact, given its age the guitar shows hardly any evidence of having been played. It has the normal 650mm scale and 52mm nut with a standard setting for the action at the 12th fret. The Rosewood back and sides are beautifully book-matched and are evidence of the high standards of build quality. The model 50 is Nishino's Hauser influenced model and reproduces the typical Hauser sound in consequence. It is an excellent example of a guitar which is seldom available.
